Synopsis

남극 대륙의 로스해(海)는 지구상에서 가장 깨끗한 바다다. 꽁꽁 얼어붙어 있는 이곳에도 고래, 물개, 펭귄과 같은 생명체들이 가득하다. 그러나 최근 로스해로 가는 항로가 발견되면서 '백금'이라고 불릴 만큼 가치가 높은 남극대구를 포획하기 위한 상업어선들이 몰려들고 있다. 지구상에 남은 마지막 청정 생태계를 보호하기 위해, 데이브 에인리를 비롯한 일군의 과학자들과 사진작가 존 웰러 그리고 영화감독 피터 영이 뭉쳐 정부와 기업들을 대상으로 캠페인을 시작한다.

The Ross Sea is the most pristine stretch of ocean on Earth and a vast, frozen landscape that teems with life - whales, seals and penguins carving out a place on the very edge of existence. But an international fishing fleet has recently found its way to the Ross Sea. It is targeting Antarctic toothfish, sold in up-market restaurants around the world. The catch is so lucrative it is known as white gold. A scientist AINLEY rallies his fellow scientists and meets up with a photographer and New Zealand filmmaker who also share a deep passion for this pristine corner of the world and begin a campaign to protect Earth's last untouched ocean from our insatiable appetite for fish.
