Synopsis

필리핀 세부 섬 북부의 바닷가 마을. 오랫동안 이곳에서 생계를 이어온 어부들은 환경파괴가 초래한 대가를 치르는 중이다. 해양자원의 고갈로 더 이상 바다에서 아무것도 수확할 수 없게 된 것이다. 절망한 젊은 어부 랜디는 투계에 발을 들이고 ‘산토 니뇨 데’ 축제에 참여하며 소원을 빈다. 한편 그의 동료 어부들은 산호채집에 반대하는 투쟁에 나서면서 랜디에게도 동참할 것을 촉구한다.
In a rural seaside town, north of Cebu, Philippines, fishermen face the harsh reality of humaninduced environmental conditions. Fueled by the consequences of dwindling marine resources, Randy has delved into cockfighting and joins a solemn procession for the feast of Senior Santo Nino to find hope and luck. At the same time, a fellow fisher folk ask him to join them in their fight against coral harvesting.

감독 겸 활동가. 필리핀영화학교에서 수학했다. <마지막 출항>은 그의 졸업작품으로 2012년 비사야영화제에서 최우수단편상을 수상했다. 현재 말레이시아 사바 섬에서 국적 없는 필리핀인을 주인공으로 하는 장편영화를 작업 중이다.
She is a filmmaker and activist from the Philippines Film Institute. Her undergraduate thesis Last Strike won Best Short Film in Bisaya Film Festival 2012 and currently is developing her first feature-length project on the statelessness of Filipinos in the island of Sabah in Malaysia.
