Synopsis

케냐 투르카나 호수에서는 5만 명의 사람들이 물고기로 주린 배를 채우고 농경과 목축에 필요한 물을 얻는다. 하지만 가뭄이 길어지고 호수가 마르면서 호수 주변의 공동체는 물론 그들의 삶의 방식도 사라져간다. 강 상류에 댐을 건설한 사람들, 또는 기후 변화를 야기한 선진국 사람들. 과연 누구에게 책임을 물어야 할까?
Around 500,000 people rely on Lake Turkana for fishing and for water for their crops and cattle. But the lake is drying up and communities are fighting to survive. “They kill each other because of grass and water,” says one man. Just like the lake, a whole way of life is disappearing. Who is to blame, the people upstream for damming the Omo River or the developed world for causing climate change?

Rehad DESAI currently runs Uhuru Productions and has made films and TV documentary and drama. And he is the festival director of the Tri Continental Film Festival for the last 10 years and the conference director of the People to People International Documentary Conference.
