Synopsis

히로시마 원폭 당시 방사능에 노출된 나무들을 돌보며 연구하는 나무의사의 이야기. 녹나무, 은행나무, 동백나무 등 피폭된 나무들을 관찰하고 가까이서 지켜온 나무의사 호리구치. 그는 절망적인 상황 속에서도 살아남은 식물들을 통해 이 시대의 우리들에게 희망을 전한다.
Tree Project Film is a portrait of HORIGUCHI, a tree doctor in Hiroshima who specializes in caring for Hibaku trees, those that survived the atomic bombings. HORIGUCHI’s story is augmented by current footage of some of the iconic Hibaku trees, including Camphor, Plantae, Ginkgo and Camellia.

 

Director 스나이리 히로시 SUNAIRI Hiroshi
예술가이자 영화감독. 뉴욕대학교 예술학부 강사이기도 하다. 후쿠시마 원전사고를 다룬 <에어>는 2012년 DMZ다큐멘터리영화제에서 소개된 바 있다. 티베트에서 촬영한 장편영화 <Making Mistakes>는 미국과 인도, 파키스탄 등에서 상영되었다.
SUNAIRI Hiroshi is an artist/filmmaker and a parttime faculty in the Art Dept. at NYU. He is working on film projects; AIR , a road trip to Fukushima in 2011, premiered at the DMZ Docs 2012. His first feature, Making Mistakes was shot in Tibet and shown in various
film festivals in NY, India and Pakistan.
