Synopsis

2011년 '숲의 해'를 기념하여, UN이 세계적인 항공사진가 얀 아르튀스 베르트랑에게 공식 영상제작을 의뢰해 완성된 작품이다. 베르트랑의 <하늘에서 본 지구>시리즈와 같이 아름다운 항공 이미지로 구성되었으며, 배우 에드워드 노튼이 내레이션을 맡았다. 숲에 미래가 없다면 인류의 미래도 없다는 메시지를 담고 있다.

The United Nations-mandated Yann Arthus-Bertrand to produce the official film for the launch of the International Year of Forests, 2011. Following the success of his film Home, seen by 400 million people, the photographer created a 7-minute short film on forests filled with aerial images from Home and The Earth from Above television series. This film is shown during the plenary session of the Ninth Session of the United Nations Forum on Forests in New York. It is available to the public, at no charge.

Director 얀 아르튀스 베르트랑 Yann ARTHUS-BETRAND

1946년 출생. 평생 동안 야생동물과 자연환경에 대한 남다른 열정을 품어왔다. 전시 <하늘에서 본 지구>를 비롯한 장기적인 프로젝트를 여럿 진행하면서 활발한 출판 및 전시활동을 펼쳐왔다. 2005년 굿플래닛 재단을 설립해 환경문제에 대한 대중의 관심과 참여를 이끌고 지속 가능한 지구를 위한 구체적인 해결방안들을 구상하고 있다.
