Synopsis

미국 가정에서 사용되는 화장실 휴지의 95%는 베어낸 나무에서 얻은 천연펄프로 만들어진다. 그 나무의 상당수는 아주 오랜 역사를 지닌 북미의 숲에서 200년 이상을 살아 온 나무들이다. 만약 각 미국 가정에서 두루마리 휴지 단 한 개라도 천연펄프가 아니라 100% 재생 종이로 만들어진 것을 사용한다면 40만 그루의 나무를 구할 수 있을 것이다. 

Did you know that most toilet paper comes from trees? 95% of toilet paper used in US homes in made mostly of "virgin" fiber from newly cut trees. Many of these trees are over 200 years old and are harvested from ancient North American forests. 400,000 trees will be saved if each American home replaces a roll of virgin fiber toilet paper with a roll made from 100% recycled paper - just once.
